My favourite artist singer/songwriter has got to be Kasey Chambers. Kasey hasn't compromised her..music - she's stuck to what she likes doing best and that's country. Outstanding songwriter in her own right she has developed her own style as in her own words " I ain't pretty enough' ...the song that gave her fame.
I like Lee Kernaghan also - his style of music is different it's 'boysie' type country and he is a great entertainer - he is a man of the land and is ready to help others who need help.
I like these two artists very much!

Lee Kernaghan, comes across as the small town Aussie done good. His music sounds great cranked up at a party, or toned down in the car. I like that he doesn't use the Yank "twang" in his singing too. Keep up the great tunes!

Slim Dusty is the greatest country and western entertainer of the decade,
He has some great songs, and they never seem to date,
If you are ever on a long trip and you put Slim on everyone can sing along to them, and it helps to pass the time, while you watch our vast land of Australia pass by.

Adam Brand would be the pick of the crop for me !!! His music relates to the way of life in Australia. He plays upbeat songs to keep you going and every now and then will slip a slow and memorable song into his albums. He is a true Aussie artist, up their with the greats.

For his heartfelt and beautiful songwriting skills, for a voice that captures an audience in just a few lines, for a heart of solid gold which he gives so much to our country communities that struggle in all types of hardships be it bushfire, flood or drought and for his absolute appreciation to his loyal and devoted fans. I say Lee Kernaghan is my favorite Aussie Country Singer.

Already entered but wanted to say how great it is to see a wide range of country artists being mentioned. How boring would it be if everyone like the same thing :) How good is it when you agree with everyone's comments. Keep em coming, I'm enjoying this!

I believe that Gina Jeffreys' musical performances show that she is not afraid to challenge the Country Music genre and mould it into more modern music for a wider audience, whilst still maintaining its country feel.

Lee Kernaghan as his music takes me to the country no matter where i may be. When I listen to his music I can close my eyes and go back home.

Lee Kernaghan, because he sings about our great country and he treats every fan as a true friend. Doesnt matter how old or anything, he will give you 110% of his time to you when you are talking with him. Take the time for that special photo and sign something you want done.

He does his bit like the "pass the hat around" for those needed towns and do anything he can to help.

The Pigram Brothers are one of my favourites. I have heard them at Port Fairy and in West Australia. They are so full of life and love for their country that they sing about. John Williamson, too, is a troubador in the spirit of Slim Dusty, in that he sings about us, our everyday lives. He evinces, with his music, our dreams and disasters, oyr sorrows, our joys, our everyday lives. He makes me cry, he makes me laugh, he makes me think. Wonderful.
