Few musicians can lay claim to the career longevity of James Blundell and his ability to effortlessly appeal to country and mainstream audiences. His fellow musicians say that he has altered the landscape of Australian country music, and Lee Kernaghan once described him as one of the “greatest singer-songwriters this country has ever produced”.
A chat with James Blundell soon reveals his unfaltering and infectious love and appreciation of music and life. The 9 time Golden Guitar winner is currently performing in the Ultimate Rock n Roll Jam Session across Australia. He has also found time to release his 10th studio album Woolshed Creek. Recorded on his family property in Mount Malakoff, the new album is a series of acoustic tracks produced by his good friend and musician Paul Greene. This is Blundell stripped back and unscripted, reminding us why he is considered one of our finest performers.
