Singer/songwriter and all round good guy Shane Nicholson is coming in for an intimate evening to showcase his new CD Bad Machines.

Bad Machines features some wonderful special guest performers, including Catherine Britt, Paul Kelly, Kasey Chambers, and Lucky Oceans.  

As well as putting together this album, in the last 18 months Shane has also been busy producing albums for other artists including Angie Hart, Catherine Britt, Lou Bradley, Steve Grady and Sarah Humphreys. 

If you are in Sydney and would like to be in the studio audience for this very special show, just tell us a short story about a Bad Machine that you have had to deal with. 

The 15 most interesting tales will win a double pass to the show. 

The prizes are tickets only, you must be able to make your way in to the ABC Studios in Ultimo by 6pm on Wednesday March 23.

We received some fantastic entries - there's a lot of bad machines out there, including photocopiers, printers, lawn implements and gaming consoles.  Here's a small sample from some of the winners:

My mother-in-law thought my laptop computer was a chopping board.  She used it to cut up cucumber to make a salad. Once she finished the food preparation, she proceeded to wash it up, killing it instantly.  Now a chopping board is all its good for !!!! Bill Donohoe

I took the safety guard off the back of my hairdryer because it was getting in my way, my hair got sucked up into the motor and was all wound around it, I could not get it out. The end result of this bad evil machine incident was an almost bald patch on the side of my head where I had to cut the hairdryer away from my head!  Stacey Young

The much maligned parking meter is a machine with an almost universally "bad" reputation.  However, on a trip to England in 2004, I encountered a ticket machine in a midlands carpark which, due to some fault, inexplicably spat-out £18 in return for the £2 pounds we had paid to park.  By happy coincidence, this was exactly how much 3 pints of bitter and a couple of packets of crisps cost at an adjacent pub.  - Gareth Hipwell

I had to deal with a lawn mower that drove in reverse for some reason. I ran over a whole garden bed of poppies and into a pond. - Meg Hoey
