The Golden Guitar winning star, who owns a property in Queensland, shared his first hand experience of the floods in a press conference at the Tamworth Country Music Festival this week. He revealed details of the devastation that has forced him to pull out of the Country Music Awards of Australia on Saturday - the first time he will have missed the event in twenty years.

Troy what can one say ,,this bought tears to my eyes to hear what you and your loved ones have all gone through. we on the west coast (perth) could only sit back and imagine,But for those that it has affected they will be scared for life.Like you said what you lost is hard but alot can be replaced ,those that lost their lives can never be replaced and Thank God you all still have your lives.. You are one hell of a gentleman, and the greatest C&W star ever..love you millions.. ..And by no means are you a sook lol ..big hugz to you all and may God give you all the strength to carry on..Regards Patricia Gaden..
