The 39th Country Music Awards of Australia finalists have been announced in Sydney.

The event was hosted by Saturday Night Country's own Felicity Urquhart.  The awards recognise the best releases from the country music genre in the past twelve months.

Leading the nominations was Kasey Chambers with a total of seven. They included: Album of the Year; Female Artist of the Year; Single of the Year; Heritage Song of the Year; Video Clip of the Year; APRA Song of the Year; and Vocal Collaboration of the Year for her duet with Kevin Bennett.

Closely following was Lee Kernaghan with Planet Country, earning six nominations with; Album of the Year; Male Artist of the Year; Heritage Song of the Year; Single of the Year; APRA Song of the Year; and Video Clip of the Year.

Hot on the heels of their ARIA Award, The McClymonts received four nominations for Wrapped Up Good - Album of the Year; Single of the Year; Group or Duo of the Year; and Video Clip of the Year, plus another nomination for Vocal Collaboration of the Year with Adam Harvey from his album Both Sides Now.

The 2011 Tamworth Country Music Festival takes place between 14 -23 January 2011, with the 39th Country Music Awards  on Saturday, 22nd January.  Ray Hadley and Beccy Cole were confirmed as hosts for the night.
