Davidson Brothers first Aussies at international festival

Davidson Brothers
May 11, 2011 Updated Aug 11, 2011

The Davidson Brothers will be the first Australian band to have been invited to perform at Europe's premier bluegrass festival.

The European World of Bluegrass Festival attracts bands from across Europe and the USA and will be held from 2-4 June this year. Taking full advantage of the opportunity, the appearance will also mark the first Davidson Brothers European tour. The duo will perform shows in the Netherlands and Germany before returning ahead of their appearance at the Beechworth Bluegrass Festival in Victoria.

However, this isn't the only travelling the brothers have been involved in; they visited Nashville at the end of April last year to record a new album at Sidekick Sound Studios. The Davidsons spent five days in the studio and had guest musicians lend their sound to the recordings. Expect to hear the sounds of Aubrey Haynie on fiddle, Bryan Sutton on guitar, Randy Kohrs on dobro and Mike Bub on upright bass as well their good friend Jerry Salley.

The new album is due on Friday July 1, 2011.
