Emmylou Harris to headline Sydney Festival
The Festival First Night is a free event, and part of the three-week festival which incorporates more than a hundred events in thirty different venues across the city.
Other musical highlights include Paul Kelly, Sufjan Stevens, Kitty,Daisy and Lewis and US actor John Malkovich.
Festival director Lindy Hume says the event will be a celebration of Sydney itself, and that the program is contemporary, bold, global, diverse and ambitious – just like the city.
This will be Emmylou Harris’ first visit to Australia in a decade. The iconic singer has sold more than 15 million albums worldwide during her 30 year career and won 12 Grammy Awards.
Sydney Festival will run from January 8 to 30.
