Hank Cochran passes away

Cochran was a recording artist and performer in his own right from the 60s through to the 80s, and made it into the Billboard country charts seven times.
He was inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1974, and is quoted as saying: "I have a theory that somebody beside me must write my songs because half of the time I don't have the slightest idea where they come from. I even wake up out of a dead sleep and write a song completely."
