This year's heats are happening in Wagga Wagga, Dubbo, the Central Coast, Armidale and Sydney, with the final taking place at Rooty Hill RSL on October 9.

The competition is open to kids aged between 13 and 18, with the overall winner receiving $1000 to go towards establishing themselves as musicians.

The winner will also get to perform at the Golden Saddles country music event at Rooty Hill RSL on October 9, alongside some of country music's big names.

Junior Saddles Competition heats:

Wagga Wagga – May 1st / 2nd
Dubbo – June 5th / 6th
Central Coast – July 3rd / 4th
Armidale – August 7th / 8th
Sydney - September 4th / 5th
**FINAL** Sydney – October 9th
