Melinda does Doris
Melinda Does Doris, A Tribute To Doris Day, Schneider's sixth studio album will feature covers of hits including 'It's Magic', 'Perhaps, Perhaps, Perhaps', and 'Que Serra Serra'.
The concept for the album was inspired by a Doris Day tribute show which Schnieder appeared in at Melbourne's Mardi Gras Midsummer Festival several years ago.
Doris Day's career spanned more than five decades and delivered some of popular music's most enduring and successful recordings.
"Everybody loves Doris!" Schneider says. "I have been a fan of Doris Day since I was a child and my all time favourite 'Doris' film is Calamity Jane. She was such a huge talent, a triple treat as they say, she could sing, dance and act.
"Doris is the best of everything a woman can be. When I grow up… I want to be just like her. People have been telling me for years that I should make this record and I knew that one day, when the timing was right, I would."
Melinda Does Doris, A Tribute To Doris Day is due out on July 30.
