Nashville's Grand Ole Opry under water
The Opy has posted a photograph on their website showing flood waters, from the nearby Cumberland River, reaching half way up the stage door.
The above photograph, posted on Twitter by 'JKsGrownNSexy', show the extent of the flood damage to the interior of the historic country music venue.
The Grand Ole Opry has been featuring country music's biggest stars and rising talent in a weekly radio broadcast since 1925.
According to news reports the flooding and massive thunderstorms in southeastern US states have caused 27 deaths so far, ten of these in Nashville.
Some parts of the region received 16 inches of rain in just 48 hours, which is more than three times the average rainfall for the whole month of May.
Other music landmarks in Nashville affected by flooding include the Country Music Hall of Fame and the Schermerhorn Symphony Center.
