May 3, 2010 Updated May 10, 2010

Troy Cassar-Daley and star-on-the-rise Harmony James headed up the winners' list at the Queensland Country Music Awards last weekend.

Cassar-Daley took out the 'Queensland Male Vocalist of the Year' category for his single I Love This Place, written about his home turf in country Queensland.

He also picked up the award for 'Queensland Vocal Collaboration of the Year', for his work with The McClymonts on the track Ain’t Gonna Change for You, the same song that earned them a Golden Guitar in January.

Harmony James, whose country music profile is growing rapidly, received the 'Queensland Female Vocalist of the Year' trophy for her song Precious Little.

Other sunshine state residents to take home awards at the ceremony, held in Charters Towers near Townsville on Saturday as part of the
Charters Towers Country Music Festival, included Smokin’ Crawdads, Shea Fisher, Dean Perrett and Michael Fix.
