The young up-and-comers will progress through to the final round of the competition, held at the Tamworth Country Music Festival, where two will be chosen as winners.

Eight finalists from across New South Wales, South Australia, the Northern Territory and Western Australia make up the ‘Performer’ category, which provides an opportunity for talent who may not perform their own material.

These finalists include David Agius, Aaron Bolton, Imogen Clark, Kristal Collins, Makaylie Foodey, David Garnham, Tenielle Musulin and Craig Sinclair.

The other two finalists – Tori Darke and Luke Webb, both from NSW - make up the Songwriter category.

The winning perfomer and songwriter in the Road To Tamworth will receive a return trip to Nashville, recording and performance opportunities, and career development support designed to progress their professional music careers.

The 2010 Road To Tamworth final will be held on January 19, during the Tamworth Country Music Festival.
