Troy up for Song Of The Year at APRAs
Cassar-Daley's nomination comes with the success of his song 'Big Big Love', which was inspired by a text message he received from his buddy Keith Urban.
Also in contention for the Song Of The Year award are rock and pop artists Empire Of The Sun, The Temper Trap, Sarah Blasko and Kate Miller-Heidke.
Singer Kasey Chambers is the only other country artist to have been awarded the Song Of The Year title in the history of the APRA Awards.
Other country musicians who'll figure in the APRAs, with nominations for the Country Work Of The Year award, are Brad Cole, Adam Brand, Steve Forde and The McClymonts.
The APRAs, hosted by the Australasian Performing Right Association, is the largest awards night for local songwriters on the music industry calendar, after the ARIAs.
The ceremony will be held in Sydney on June 21.
