Troy's Golden Guitars haul

Troy Cassar-Daley with awards
Last updated Feb 12, 2010

Troy Cassar-Daley was the big winner at this year's Country Music Awards, walking off with six of the coveted shiny guitars at the ceremony in Tamworth.

He'll probably be in the market for more shelf space as he now has 20 of the gongs to find room for at home.

Troy managed not to let his emotions get the better of him...that is until Tamworth girl Felicity Urquhart took out female artist of the year award.

"When she started crying... I was beside myself ... She's waited a long time and I felt really, really proud of her," he said.

Urquhart said it was wonderful to win the award in front of so many familiar faces and to have the industry she loves and works to promote recognise her.

"I am so happy, this is a childhood dream." she said.
