The movie features Nelson along with Nobel Peace laureate Muhammad Yunus, Nobel Physicist Steven Chu, (Barack Obama's Secretary of Energy), Dr. Helene Gayle (CEO of CARE, International). It aims to answer the question: "Can we provide basic rights – water, nutrition, education, healthcare and a sustainable and peaceful environment – to every child on earth?"
Nelson was honoured by the Hawaiian festival for "having the courage of his convictions, a willingness to speak his mind and the backbone to withstand the heat from those who take issue with his vigorous expression of our collective constitutional right to the freedom of artistic and political expression."
'One Piece at a Time' was also a song recorded by Johnny Cash in 1976.
