I know of Melaney but I've never been there! Congratulations to David and thanks to the ABC for running this competition.
THE MULLET DANCE
Just up the road from where the Royal Tar was built
Is a Dance Hall where they're setting a new trend
A band called “Timber Getters” are making all the noise
Vibrating the walls with a song I'd recommend
But only if you're fit enough
And you can handle things rough and tough
Hands by your side, nose in the air
Jump of the ground everyone beware
The Mullet Dance is from the shore
Now the Mullet Dance is on the floor
Now some folks get around with Oysters in their gob
They reckon they can't dance but you want to see them try
It's good fun to watch even the Crabs are doing their best
Moments like this you wish you can fly
But only if you're fit enough
And you can handle things rough and tough
Hands by your side, nose in the air
Jump of the ground everyone beware
The Mullet Dance is from the shore
Now the Mullet Dance is on the floor
It's a golden rule when ever you visit Nambucca Heads
Bring your dancing shoes or boots with springs in heels
You can practice near the river where the Mullet are cool
And when you're ready the staff are serving up meals
But only if you're hungry enough
And you can handle things rough and tough
Hands by your side, nose in the air
Jump of the ground everyone beware
The Mullet Dance is from the shore
Now the Mullet Dance is on the floor

TELEGRAPH POINT IS THE PLACE
I played to an audience at Telegraph point
On the Maria river, it was a beautiful day
The old butter factory was serving treats
But someone forgot the chardonnay
It didn't bother me, No! No!
It didn't bother me at all
I'd rather drink juice filled with vitamins
So I don't wake up with pain at all
Picnic atmosphere
And music to satisfy your ear
Away from concrete and the rat race
Telegraph Point is the place
Neville wore his Collingwood shirt
But had nothing to say about yesterday
He was enjoying the choice of music
He also enjoyed the peaceful Sunday
I wished him luck before I left
I wished him luck! Mate
I played one more song for the road
A song before it gets to late
Picnic atmosphere
And music to satisfy your ear
Away from concrete and the rat race
Telegraph Point is the place
The talented Rosanna bailed me up
Just when I got in to my car
She had to tell me to be careful
Everywhere you look is police Radar
I thanked her very much! Indeed
I thanked her for her good advice
I put on my seatbelt and drove off
Telegraph Point is so nice
Picnic atmosphere
And music to satisfy your ear
Away from concrete and the rat race
Telegraph Point is the place

SWANSEA IS AN ANGLERS CALL
Captain Reid made a mistake, or maybe he had too much Rum
He steered off his course, Swansea Heads would beat his drum
They found a bit of coal, got their shovels and dug deep
Witchetty grubs and Funnel Webs, they put the crew of to sleep
Now they call it Swansea
Entrance to Lake Macquarie
Where Yachts race for glory
And Fisherman catch a John Dory
You can sit and watch the channel
Where Pelicans look peaceful
Tourist buy bait and tackle
Swansea is an anglers call
They like a game of snooker, and Schooners filled with beer
Surf talk is talk is the language, Eddie Charlton came from here
You might think it's a suburb, I'd argue if I really must
They once had an industry, Boat Building was the crust
The place is called Swansea,
Entrance to Lake Macquarie
Where Yachts race for glory
And Fisherman catch a John Dory
You can sit and watch the channel
Where Pelicans look peaceful
Tourist buy bait and tackle
Swansea is an anglers call
Newcastle is not far away, a bus will take you there
The working class are about, thongs worn everywhere
Residents in the parks, will relax and read a book
They'll laugh around the Barbie, because Martha is the cook
The place is called Swansea,
Entrance to Lake Macquarie
Where Yachts race for glory
And Fisherman catch a John Dory
You can sit and watch the channel
Where Pelicans look peaceful
Tourist buy bait and tackle
Swansea is an anglers call

THERE'S NO PLACE LIKE GULARGAMBONE (When It's Wet)
The river's full of life and the crops are green
The main street is filled with birds singing
When the dirt is damp in this outback town
The publican starts celebrating
He's hired a band that plays country music
Folks arrive and the bistro is near full
With a flannelet shirt and Akubra hat
Big Al reckons he's going to eat a bull
With boots on your feet
You'll look good in the street
In the town of Gulargambone
It's a rage when there's a shower
And the birds squawk on the hour
There is no town like Gulargambone
When the women get together they dress up smart
I'm impressed when all dance in a line
You can hear them chattering in the background
With only a moderate amount of wine
They too like their country music
They too like the sound of rain drops
And when ever it's wet in this little old town
The chirpy atmosphere never stops
With boots on your feet
You'll look good in the street
In the town of Gulargambone
It's a rage when there's a shower
And the birds squawk on the hour
There is no town like Gulargambone
When the music stops you can hear the bull
Sizzling in the pubs kitchen
Big Al gets served and everyone goes quiet
Al's movements gets all the attention
The music starts again and we leave the man alone
So he can digest his meal in peace
And at the end of the night when the lively pub shuts
Folks are too sober to be cheeky to Police
With boots on your feet
You'll look good in the street
In the town of Gulargambone
It's a rage when there's a shower
And the birds squawk on the hour
There is no town like Gulargambone

THERE AIN'T NO ZOO IN THORA
I was once introduced to an alternative dude
He spent spent all day rolling in dirt
Interesting he was and full of ideas
Boris he was, and an animal expert
But didn't have licence or diploma
He didn't drink or swear or smoke
A mean musician that knew his chords
You hang around he'll tell a joke
He lived near Bellingen, and loved his oxygen
He'll send you on a wild goose chase
West of town was his base
He tells me
There ain't no zoo in Thora
Plenty of reptiles, wild galahs
and a homing pigeon
There ain't no zoo in Thora
Everyone is collecting fertilizer
They say one day it be worth a fortune
Just like antiques and fortified wine
On Australia's wealthiest commune
Just west of Bellingen is a shed
That's just up from a stream
Don't trance think or meditate
Go direct to your wildest dream
He lived near Bellingen, and loved his oxygen
He'll send you on a wild goose chase
West of town was his base
He tells me
There ain't no zoo in Thora
Plenty of reptiles, wild galahs
and a homing pigeon
There ain't no zoo in Thora

NAMBUCCA HEADS IS A PEARL IN THE GROUND
Timber Getters arrived with prosperous thoughts
Indigenous Folks didn't let them starve
Then the Scottish Migrants bought their wisdom
Before a highway delivered tourist charm
Banana Growers set a trend that's almost gone
Now they struggle in a competing market
But the Oysters look good served natural
Thirsty Folks giggle over a casket
If Heaven was above I'd rather stay here
Nambucca Heads has the atmosphere
This place is too good just look around
Nambucca Heads is a pearl in the ground
The rhythm of waves and the sound of the wind
Delivers a magical vibe to feel
Overlooking the ocean from the Headland Cliff
Whale watchers claim they can heal
Chemistry of joy alarms those on duty
Attracting dolphins that cruise the river
Where Oyster beds decorate the rocky shores
Making it an easy choice for dinner
If Heaven was above I'd rather stay here
Nambucca Heads has the atmosphere
This place is too good just look around
Nambucca Heads is a pearl in the ground
Some cheeky Lorikeets arrived on a branch
When I was looking for some fruit to eat
They would fly in from the nearby forest
That's home to frogs and a deep creek
I love the character of the estuary
And the Pelicans that guide you through
So when you find some delicious treats
I've got a recipe for Oyster Stew
If Heaven was above I'd rather stay here
Nambucca Heads has the atmosphere
This place is too good just look around
Nambucca Heads is a pearl in the ground

GEURIE RACETRACK
A few white cockatoos and the sight of a baldy crest
On the Mitchell highway out west in New South Wales
Geurie is the place and it's where Betty's horse would race
At the track where I've listened to many tales
Hot dog and a can of drink is the cuisine of the day
And a five dollar bet is all that I have allowed
The horses look so pretty and the jockeys are so fit
The colours of my choice are picked I'm in the crowd
Consider yourself lucky if you don't loose any money
At the Geurie racetrack where the turf is smelly
I've been on a winner and a looser and I've even bought a calender
At the Geurie Racetrack in October
They're from beyond Bourke and dress up to the nines
In spring when all the flowers start to bloom
With some done on her boots a woman got upset
She screamed like she lost one would assume
With the Salvation army about I felt a desire
To dig deep in my pocket and donate some coin
It's always a wonderful day at the picnic races
In Geurie so why don't you come and join
Consider yourself lucky if you don't loose any money
At the Geurie racetrack where the turf is smelly
I've been on a winner and a looser and I've even bought a calender
At the Geurie Racetrack in October
A few white cockatoos and the sight of a baldy crest
on the Mitchell highway out west in New South Wales
Geurie is the place and it's where Betty's horse would race
at the track where I've listened to many tales
Lots and lots of hats I'm so glad I'm not a judge
First past the post is what will do me
It's always a wonderful day at the picnic races
In Geurie so why don't you come and see

IT CAN ONLY HAPPEN IN NIMBIN
There were flies getting about when I ordered a hamburger in Nimbin
They were hanging around a hippie dude I'm sure that they like him
I seen a cockroach on a leash tied up to a pole in the main street
And a curious policeman on a push bike he was just protecting his beat
I'm not dreaming right now
I'll swear on a picture of a cow
The things that you see in Nimbin
It can only happen in Nimbin
I ate my meal before I met Rosemary she was once crowned miss Nimbin
She was a conservative vegetarian told me eating meat was a sin
Only her opinion we shared peanuts then we massaged each others feet
People were out selling raffle tickets the major prize was a mysterious treat
I'm not dreaming right now
I'll swear on a picture of a cow
The things that you see in Nimbin
It can only happen in Nimbin
I got out my guitar and began singing some country music in Nimbin
The folks here they prefer jazz when they are not taking penicillin
I didn't win the mysterious raffle which was a taxi ride to the creek
Where a faith heeler hands out cards and that's enough to retreat
I'm not dreaming right now
I'll swear on a picture of a cow
The things that you see in Nimbin
It can only happen in Nimbin

TEWINGA
There's a place on the way to Bowraville that has a tiny hall
Folks go there not to play bingo but have themselves a ball
You can dance, you can mime, if you think you can't sing
You can bring along some noise if you feel like practicing
We're in Tewinga, you never know who you'll meet
In Tewinga, with the right boots on your feet
I Love Tewinga, and anything that is sweet
Tewinga, they don't even have a main street
The sheep sing along to ba ba Babara an
And if our country music jamboree all goes to plan
We'll invite the whole of Australia and have a barbecue
I know a social butterfly that would like to meet you
We're in Tewinga, you never know who you'll meet
In Tewinga, with the right boots on your feet
I Love Tewinga, and anything that is sweet
Tewinga, they don't even have a main street
Why not grab your lagerphone and beat one to four
Never mind the three they're all rolling on the floor
Beware of the bastard blow fly that's not in the key
A freeloader that's traveled from the nearby piggery
We're in Tewinga, you never know who you'll meet
In Tewinga, with the right boots on your feet
I Love Tewinga, and anything that is sweet
Tewinga, they don't even have a main street

NAMBUCCA HEADS DOES EXIST
Many years ago I moved to the country
To get away from concrete and smog
I lived in the city with hustle and bustle
Enough to drive one/a man to grog
This place is for me
I can look out to a beautiful sea
A coastal Town with a river and an estuary
Nambucca Heads is where I cruise
Five horse power definitely no booze
Nambucca Heads does exist
Paradise that you can't resist
Many birds flock they love the country
Just like me and my flash guitar
I walk in the scrub with fresh air to breathe
And I've got a second hand car
This place is for me
You can get to the sea
Mullet au citron is a choice for tea
Nambucca Heads is number one
Visitors everywhere having lots of fun
Nambucca Heads does exist
Paradise that you can't resist
Ship building was once an industry
In this town you wouldn't believe
The Royal Tar was a famous barque
Built here/there now do you believe
This place is for me
I can look out to a beautiful sea
A coastal Town with a river and an estuary
Nambucca Heads gets my vote
Five horse power and a hand made boat
Nambucca Heads does exist
Paradise that you can't resist

RETURNING TO TAYLORS ARM
Dave departed Central, on the Casino bound train
He'd been travellin', now he's going home
Macksvilles where he'll stop, after dark he'll be met
Katrina is his friend, Taylors Arm is his home
He looks forward to arriving, at the tiny local pub
A Thirsty Dave will order, a light beer or two
Time to tell some stories, adventures from his heart
Les can't wait to hear, his mates voice over a brew
It's been a long watch
A few words won't do any harm
Some folks can't wait to see Dave
Returning to Taylors Arm
As he sat in the aisle, of an almost empty carriage
Doin' some thinkin', over a railway pie
With no one beside him, bags by his feet
Chance for a snooze, and wake at Uangai
With eyes wide open, the lights are on
Coffee being served, before it turns dark
Hands in his pocket, he takes out a pen
A Poem on his ticket, It's almost dark
It's been a long watch
A few words won't do any harm
Some folks can't wait to see Dave
Returning to Taylors Arm
He missed the flood, fire and drought
and the big storm, when lightning struck
A humble Dave, will see his parrot
Pat his dog, she's had a pup
When he arrived, back in town
He has the time, for a light beer or two
Told a story, before departing
Les got to hear, his mates voice over a brew

GIRRALONG IS NUMBER ONE
Up in the hills west of Bowraville
is a place called Girralong
It's not a town or village but a Hamlet
That has a Billabong
Lawrie lives up there with his dog,
his parrot and a sheep
And he listens to the radio all day
up until he goes to sleep
He rings up Fiona to report district gossip
From his neighbors chook yard
Shes our local breakfast announcer
and begins the day with a giggle and laugh
Filled with pot holes and roadkill
and a farmer selling cow done
Girralong is worth a look
Girralong is number one
Girralong might only be small
With not a shop to buy stuff like ham
And The place may one day vanish
If they go ahead and build this dam
The chooks are getting restless
A rumour's spreading they are forming a union
With the sheep they'll stand united
So they'll never fall in my opinion
Harldly anybody lives in Girralong
and in winter they tell me it's cold
I thought about doing some diggin' there
But I think I'd be lucky to find fools gold
Filled with pot holes and roadkill
and a farmer selling cow done
Girralong is worth a look
Girralong is number one

NAMBUCCA HEADS IS WHERE YOU ARE
There is a place I want you to see
Just a short stroke from the sea
Spoiled with beauty
Everybody will agree
The seagulls are swarming
Local folks are calling
Tourist are dining
But I'm going to sing
Let me put goose bumps on your skin
Even though I'm not Anthony Quinn
I've got a voice and a guitar
Nambucca Heads is where you are
The river you ought to see
It runs out to the sea
The forest full of trees
It's Brush box country
Surf Club is welcoming
Nippers are encouraging
The lives they are saving
And I'm going to sing
Let me put goose bumps on your skin
Even though I'm not Anthony Quinn
I've got a voice and a guitar
Nambucca Heads is where you are
There is a place I want you to see
Just a short stroke from the sea
Wildlife roaming free
Escape to the country
Bananas ripening
Oysters in the evening
Tourist are dining
And I am going to sing
Let me put goose bumps on your skin
Even though I'm not Anthony Quinn
I've got a re stringed guitar
Nambucca Heads is where you are

Welcome to Scotts Head Mr Wong
The boat people from China know where to go to escape
Not Bondi or Botany, but Scotts Head is the place
As the story goes they once beached on there way
Singing merrily to avoid arrest in Botany Bay
So welcome to Scotts Head Mr Wong
You'll be naturalized when ever you sing this Song
If you can chew our chop suey,
That's all you need to be an Aussie
So Welcome to Scotts Head Mr Wong
A friend of mine remembers the day the chinese had arrived
She reached for her rifle and fortunately she never fired
The mozzies bit the kids so they bought some aeroguard
Then suddenly Scotts Head had more dough than armourgard
So welcome to Scotts Head Mr Wong
You'll be naturalized when ever you sing this Song
If you can go chew our chop suey,
That's all you need to be an Aussie
So Welcome to Scotts Head Mr Wong
For many many years now migrants have settled here
Glasgow, Beunos aries, california and Lancashire
With our Iindiginous buddies we mix well at a barbecue
And Dance along to John Williams singin' Old man Emu
So welcome to Scotts Head Mr Wong!
You'll be naturalized when ever you sing this Song
If you can go chew chop suey,
That's all you need to be an Aussie
So Welcome to Scotts Head Mr Wong

SHE LIVED IN MISSABOTTI
One day I drove up into the hills
I seen Tall trees, Birds and a flowing stream
An unsealed road and breathtaking views
I could describe the place like a dream
A tracker driver then stopped me
He had a pup that he wanted me to pat
A friendly big man an Italian accent
It was an excuse so we can chat
I never got to know his name
He had a daughter that was in the music game
He said she cooked the best spaghetti
And she lived in a place called Missabotti
I asked all the locals that I knew
If anyone had ever come across this woman
Her dad said she played the guitar
And sometimes she played the organ
Maybe it was all just a dream
It be nice if I can get work
I'm an artist looking for adventure
And I'm not a flamin' jerk
I never got to know his name
He had a daughter that was in the music game
She cooked the best ever spaghetti
And she lived in Missabotti

The Nambucca Heads Rooster
I knew of a rooster in Nambucca Heads
That would often say cock a doodle do
Out there in public he loved to thrill
And dressed in Red White and blue
He knocked about with the local boys
Loved his Sunday footie
He'd come to life at Corination Park
Causing a nuicense for the referee
He flapped around the oval
During a hard game of football
The Nambucca Heads Rooster
Is a couragous crowd pleaser
People like streakers and people like sponsors
Some people like to see a blew
I'd rather see this rooster at dummy half
Singing cock a doddle do
One time he did a sh** on the field
The ref distgusted! had a fit
Everyone else seen it different
When a visiting hookers face fell in it
He flapped around the oval
During a hard game of football
The Nambucca Heads Rooster
Is a couragous crowd pleaser
It was once a contraversial moment
the ball kicked and the the rooster flew
It was first to the ball when it crossed the line
And everyone went cock a dodle do
The ref had to make a descision
And Pulled out his rule book
With an extra man he still awarded the try
The visitors called the ref a crook

NOVOCASTRIAN SWEAT
I was born just a breath away from the ocean
Near a beach that is popular for surfin'
My youth days were filled with excitement
In Newcastle they're not short of entertainment
The blue collar boys taught me all about life
Not to forget some migrants that I knew from Fife
The steelworks once contributed to the bread
But no longer they do something else instead
But now I've moved away
And I'll go back there some day
You know I've no regret
Growing up on Novocastrian Sweat
I got some friends they worked in a coal mine
They remember the strike back in 1949
And had to struggle to buy food and groceries
Helped by friends that worked in factories
They play a guitar and sing songs to greet
When busking in the mall in Hunter street
Ambassadors of nightlife fill the tavern
I've never ever driven an FJ Holden
But now I've moved away
And I'll go back there some day
You know I've no regret
Growing up on Novocastrian Sweat
Merchant ships tied up from other ports
With hands that mix with blokes on the wharf
They share stories and a laugh and a brew
And invite them around for a barbecue
The weekends are enjoyed by all
That see their local side play football
I'd see jelly fish drifting up the Hunter river
And whales swim out at sea near a Clipper
But now I've moved away
And I'll go back there some day
You know I've no regret
Growing up on Novocastrian Sweat

NAMBUCCA HEADS
Paddling up the river on a glorious day
I pass a friend going the other way
Seagulls watch as they glide above me
Spreading their wings so peacefully
I feel mesmerized when I reach the shore
Greeted by little crabs armed and ready for war
Instead of riffles they've got claws
It's the Nambucca River that I adore
I live in Nambucca Heads
This is my home town
I live in Nambucca Heads
A pretty little town
Up the hill I walk I look at the ocean
I'm in the most beautiful place to imagine
Nambucca Heads is where I am at
It's a secret I keep under my hat
I feel mesmerized when I see the shore
Getting bashed by waves from a sea bore
I could paint a picture or two, three, or four
It's Nambucca Heads that I adore
I live in Nambucca Heads
This is my home town
I live in Nambucca Heads
A pretty little town
Prelude
When I rest at night I hear the ocean rumble
It makes me relax the sound is so natural
Thought I'd let you know that I live around here
A special place with fabulous atmosphere
Lots of laughs and activities to amuse
Walk the tracks and go on a River cruise
I feel mesmerized when I reach the shore
Greeted by little crabs armed and ready for war
Instead of riffles they've got claws
It's the Nambucca River that I adore
I live in Nambucca Heads

DUBBO
A drover once told me the western plains is like a store
They Sell everything and it's worthy to explore
With a flannelet shirt and a wallet and some dough
I'm going to brush shoulders with the folk of Dubbo
You can fry from the thing in the sky
Dig a hole you don't always die
It's an adventure being in Dubbo
You want to see a chimpanzee
A dried up creek, get stung by a bee
It's good fun being in Dubbo
Galahs are about they harass all the tourist they greet
They fly around the old pub that's in Talbragar street
Must buy a drink, a feed and a rifle that shoots
And something to get the done of me boots
You can fry from the thing in the sky
Dig a hole you don't always die
It's an adventure being in Dubbo
You want to see a chimpanzee
A dried up creek, get stung by a bee
It's good fun being in Dubbo
With healthy fresh air and a tree with lots of shade
I'll park my car have a rest and sip some lemonade
I've got plenty of time to read paper and fall asleep
Not to worry cause I'll be woke by all the sheep
You can fry from the thing in the sky
Dig a hole you don't always die
It's an adventure being in Dubbo
You want to see a chimpanzee

I'M IN DONGDINGALONG
Dirt tracks ahead, and a picnic table for two
Bush filled with birds, they can sing too
Streams fit for a splash, I've got on my swimmers
Water is too cold, My body has caught the shivers
Sun starting to set, I can hear a beast
I pause for a minute, only Kempsey is East
I'm stuck in the middle of nowhere
Some people would say a prayer
But I'd rather sing a song
Because I'm in Dongdingalong
Torch out of batteries, car will not start
I know not to panic, I've watched Maxwell Smart
A house is nearby, about a hungry mile
Sidestep the roadkill, this may take a while
The house is a shack, Where Cameron resides
He's a good bloke, with a guitar and he jives.
I'm stuck in the middle of nowhere
Some people would say a prayer
But I'd rather sing a song
Because I'm in Dongdingalong
He offered us a feed, a moist and tender T bone
Sang a song or two, then I used his phone
We heard a bang, something hit a tree
Our car rolled down the hill, It was not funny
We had to spend the night, in this mystic forest
But we had our instruments, in this mystic forest
I'm stuck in the middle of nowhere
Some people would say a prayer
But I'd rather sing a song
Because I'm in Dongdingalong

ON THE WAY TO MULLUMBIMBY
Camped by the roadside the hitch hiker fell asleep trying to get a lift to Mullumbimby
A truck pulled pull over as it started to rain the driver was drowsy and desperate for a coffee
He woke the hitch hiker who's name was Norm and he was from Newcastle South
With a black T shirt dirty boots Norm the hitch hiker had a big mouth
Never know who you'll meet
Could be a scruffy or someone neat
On the way to Mullumbimby
You stop here and stop there
Step on a snake so beware
On the way to Mullumbimby
The truckie hoping to get some advice with an addiction he was craving for a flat white
He stepped out the truck and said G-day Norm grabbed his things after a long night
He knew a place been on this road before he showed the truckie where to stop
The truckie got vibes when they pulled up at the cafe next door to a crop
Never know who you'll meet
Could be a scruffy or someone neat
On the way to Mullumbimby
You stop here and stop there
Step on a snake so beware
On the way to Mullumbimby
Norm was broke so when the truckie ordered his fix he generously bought him a milkshake
It was a regret Norm made a nuisance of himself the truckie had to make a break
The rain had eased the truckie quickly left the cafe without saying goodbye
Couple of cranks and away he went the truckie left without saying goodbye
Never know who you'll meet
Could be a scruffy or someone neat
On the way to Mullumbimby
You stop here and stop there
Step on a snake so beware
On the way to Mullumbimby

MACKSVILLE GIFT
Looking at the river not a cloud in the sky
With a frothy cuppa after I ordered a pie
I start chatting to the owner of the cafe
She told me that she's had a good day
A friendly customer came in much earlier
With a guitar and he sang to her
He sang about her delightful treats
That was being served up on the street
She'll never lie
She'll always try
She's a natural gift
We call her the Macksville Gift
I had a quick glance at the newspaper
Then a chap started playing harmonica
Everyone seemed happy including Michelle
Writing a poem she's got story to tell
It could be funny because I seen her laugh
It could be the kids that are on the raft
They are drifting slowly towards the jetty
Where a little dog waits anxiously
She'll never lie
She'll always try
She's a natural gift
We call her the Macksville Gift
The waiter delivered me a fork an knife
My pie was ready so I can enjoy life
A life that I hope to add some more adventure
And one day I'll go and paint a picture
I'll start with the view from this chair
But I'll do that later you know I will be there
Because my future now looks curious
My Scottish ancestors are mysterious
She'll never lie
She'll always try
She's a natural gift
We call her the Macksville Gift

I TOOK OF MY HAT IN BOWRAVILLE (Under the awning)
The moment I arrived in Bowraville, I felt the presence of a ghost
Connecting me to an adventure, when leaning on the Veranda post
She guided me around safely, I knew she didn't mean harm
A friendly ghost nobody can see, I touched her with my charm
So I took of my hat
And danced around the street
Local folks had a laugh
In Bowraville's main street
A restored theater cafe, is now serving delicious ice cream
Looking for a cast, Mid Summer Nights dream
I'd seen a concert pianist do, an amazing show
Then someone tried to organise, a country music disco
So I took of my hat
And danced around the street
Local folks had a laugh
In Bowraville's main street
I've got to like Bowraville, a town in New South Wales
Where footballers win our hearts, and share amazing tales
The Timber Getters and Banana growers, are almost a thing of the past
Just ask the folks at the museum, making memories last
So I took of my hat
And danced around the street
Local folks had a laugh
In Bowraville's main street

BUNGWAL (THERE”S A BUSHBAND PLAYING)
At Bungwal there's a bush band playin'
Songs that get you up and dancin'
On a tongue and grooved floor
Built during the First World War
At Bungwal there's a bush band playin'
At Bungwal there's a banjo playin'
Tunes to get you up and dancin'
They'll send some folk up the wall
With bare feet boots and all
I like punch it gets you singin'
At Bungwal there's a bush band playin'
Man! You should see the dancin'
With a fiddler on the straw
A Golf Club watch out fore
It's a nice time to go skinny dipping
At Seal Rocks they all go surfing
Near Bungwal where there's dancin'
To a beat one two three four
Let’s chuck the piss pots out the door
The kookaburra laughs at our stompin'
At Bungwal there's a squeeze box playin'
Find a partner and start dancin'
What a night to have a ball
With buffet and a tasty boar
And the cost will be just a Shillin'
So at Bungwal there’s a bush band playin'
Songs that get you up and dancin'
Packed them in wall to wall
What about a loud encore
Till midnight lets hope no one's sleepin'
Yeah ha
ELVIS PRESLEY NOW LIVES IN WOY WOY
Elvis Presley’s death was fake
So says the undertaker at his wake
I've seen him get around in Australia
By his side is a beautiful brunette
The car he drives is a custom corvette
He'd had enough of the Memphis mafia
He's happy and his well
In heaven and not hell
We promise not to tell
Elvis Presley now lives in Woy Woy
Spike Milligan lured him here to see
This place much prettier than Tennessee
A getaway far from Elvis mania
He took up fishin’ and lawn bowls
Goes to the bakery for fresh bread rolls
Now enjoying life in Australia
He's happy and his well
In heaven and not hell
We promise not to tell
Elvis Presley now lives in Woy Woy
He's got a boat moored at Ettalong
We go there sometimes for a sing along
Blue suede shoes in Australia
The boys bring over guitars to jive
Along with the king who's still alive
Living in this paradise Australia
He's happy and his well
In heaven and not hell
We promise not to tell
Elvis Presley now lives in Woy Woy

NAMBUCCA HEADS ESTUARY
It's the holiday season, and nobody is freezin'
Nambucca Heads is in the sun
Tourist everywhere, and lovely fresh air
Everybody's having so much fun
A river filled with fish, Oysters make a wish
Banana Pancakes are alright
Friendly folks smile, play golf on the Isle
With a fishermen's appetite
I'm happy!
Surrounded by this gorgeous scenery
Never a moment gets dull
Just look at the seagulls
At the Nambucca Heads estuary
When I first arrived, I was feeling tired
From driving on highway one
They were welcoming guest, North south and west
The Resort was so much fun
I'm telling you, their were crabs on the barbecue
We were all singin' along
I met a fella called Errol and some lovely people
They were from Dongdingalong
I'm happy!
Surrounded by this gorgeous scenery
Never a moment gets dull
Just look at the seagulls
At the Nambucca Heads estuary
I step out my car, with a tuned guitar
Hat protecting me from the sun
Surf board on the roof, no time to be aloof
I've got to improvise and I'm going to have fun
Wildlife to glance, if you don't want to dance
The Forest Scent is euphoric
There is even a Ghost, in this town on the coast
Where wrecks unleash stories so tragic
I'm happy!
Surrounded by this gorgeous scenery
Never a gets moment dull
Just look at the seagulls
At the Nambucca Heads estuary
